Computer Wallpaper Biography
Practically any image can be used as wallpaper, so choices can get overwhelming. Windows Vista Ultimate Wallpaper Series Pack offers users a chance to simplify their desktop image with a sleek Vista-themed look.
This freeware has a very simple way of viewing the wallpaper. Users must first choose between wide-screen and full-screen wallpaper. The images are basically the same, but are stretched in different ways. Each option holds eight variations on the same theme. Each can be clicked to view more closely. The general look of the wallpaper is a glossy black background with white streaks, almost like a series of spotlights are cutting through the darkness. Starting at the upper-right-hand corner and sweeping into the lower middle is a shiny blue streak, much like the spotlights in the black, but more pronounced. In addition, a little green is added into this streak. Each of the eight options has a subtle variation on this theme, but the biggest difference is that two of them have Windows Vista shields embedded into the blue light.

Once you have decided on a wallpaper design, just go into your computer's control panel and proceed to change the wallpaper as you normally would, but browse for Windows Vista Ultimate Wallpaper. We highly recommend this download for anyone interested in adding a sleek Vista theme to their desktop.

On a computer that is provided with a desktop kind of user interface, wallpaper is the background pattern or picture against which desktop menus, icons, and other elements are displayed and moved around. A wallpaper image can be in a JPEG or a GIF file format. Wallpaper is commonly used in Microsoft Windows, Macintosh Mac OS, Linux, and in other operating systems as well. Each operating system provides several pre-installed wallpaper images for the user to choose from. A user can also choose to download and install third-party wallpapers and use one of these instead.

You won't find anything new in terms of functionality, but this freeware does give Windows' built-in clock a face-lift. Free Desktop Clock dolls up the standard digital display with a handful of skins and shows the current date and day. You can customize the simple clock settings to perform a variety of functions--such as load at start-up, use a transparent background, display seconds, and use 12-hour format. Moreover, you'll find features to sync your system clock with a couple of atomic clock servers. We like that the atomic server time could be retrieved prior to synchronizing the system clock, and the alarm feature was a definite plus. All in all, you may not be wowed by this freeware, but anyone looking to spice up that boring Windows' clock may find Free Desktop Clock useful.
